There are three types Fig 1 THE SLIP ON, and, Fig 2 THE SNAP ON Fig 3 SNAP ON & LOCK. The most popular training and exercise collar available.
ALL KOMBI COLLAR SIZE MEASUREMENTS ARE IN INCHES (Lead not included).
(a) With the Kombi Collar there is no choking effect as with choke chains.
(b) On the lead there is still the jingle sound of the chain when the attention of the dog is required for control, pulling or any other behavioural problem.
(c) The Kombi Collars are both fully adjustable to the quoted sizes.
(d) Both have an I.D. Disc holder. The collars are converted into a non-choke standard type collar when the lead is clipped on at this point.
(e) The Snap on Kombi Collar has a unique high quality snap clip. This allows for correct adjustment with any particular puppies with thin necks. Further this allows for easy removal of the collar as and when required even in an emergency.
(f) Fittings, fabric and snap buckles are of the highest quality with the metal fittings either chromium plated or solid brass.
(g) For photographs of a Kombi on individual breeds see DOGALTER or STOP PULL HEADCOLLAR pages.
Fig 1 – Kombi Collar (NO SNAP) is designed so that it may be slipped over the head of the dog after adjustment. For the correct size the head measurement should be used. The collar should slip over the dogs’ head but to prevent it slipping off when and if the dog lowers its head, it should be so adjusted that it is a little tight to take off.
Fig 2 – Kombi Collar (SNAP ON) is a similar design to Fig 1 with an additional snap on buckle with or without a lock Fig 2 & Fig 3. This allows for the collar to be adjusted to the neck size of the dog and is extremely beneficial for dogs/puppies when they are young for as they are growing and when their neck sizes are smaller than the head size. They are much easier to fit, maintain, adjust and remove. The LOCK is for safety and prevents accidental opening.
Fig 1 – KOMBI COLLAR (NO SNAP)
(a) Adjust the Kombi Collar with the two slip lock adjusters so that it will slip over the dogs’ head but is a little tight to take off. This is to prevent the collar slipping off should the dog lower its head.
(b) Attach the lead to the control ring.
(c) The collar should be totally secure and slip over the dogs’ head when the control ring is pulled and the collar tightens consequently the dog cannot escape by backing its head out of the collar.
(d) The ideal is for the two rings on the chain to meet when the control ring is pulled. This will prevent any choking effect.
(e) Ensure when the dog is off the lead the chain is not dangling down too far.
(f) IF THE CHAIN IS DANGLING DOWN WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS WITH A DOG OR PUPPY THAT HAS A THIN NECK THEN IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT A SNAP ON KOMBI BE USED WHICH READILY IRRADICATES THIS PROBLEM.
Fig 2 & 3 – KOMBI COLLAR (SNAP ON with or without a LOCK)
(a) Release the lock where applicable, unsnap the collar and adjust to fit comfortably around the neck of the dog.
(b) Place and snap the collar on, fasten the lock where applicable and then pull the control ring. It should be so adjusted that the rings prevent the collar becoming too tight for the dog hence there is no choking.
(c) The dog should not be able to slip the Kombi Collar. The LOCK if fitted prevents accidental opening and release.
(d) To remove the Kombi Collar, unlock where applicable an then just un-snap the buckle.
Fabric colours are BLACK or BLACK with TWO RED, BLUE or GREEN Stripes.
