Not everyone wants a long lead and many find a shorter lead more convenient. This lead is as the name suggests is handy to carry, handy to use, handy to hold. It is a short 30″ lead extending with the patented adjustable (magic ring) to a standard 48″ lead with a ring in the handle. In the shorter 30″ version it keeps the dog in close. In the 48″ format use as a normal standard lead, in this format it may be clipped around the shoulder when not in use. This format is used extensively in training or in competitions.
The Handy Lead 1″ version is also used as a Police & Services Patrol Lead, alternatively it may be used with large or very strong dogs. The Handy lead versions are scaled down for smaller dogs.
DESCRIPTION, INSTRUCTIONS & TRAINING TIPS
The patented HANDY LEAD is a shorter version of the JUSTER LEAD designed also as a training lead mainly for close contact but because of the extended length of 48″ is ideal for clipping over the shoulder when not required or not in use. Its uses have been widely recognised by the dog trainers, handlers and pet owners who prefer a lead shorter than the JUSTER. Like the JUSTER they are also used extensively by Trainers and in Dog Training Clubs throughout the U.K.
They are also used as the name suggests as a “HANDY LEAD” for walking pet dogs. They can be quite easily folded and carried in the pocket, or clipped around the shoulder.
Balance the fabric sizes as follows- the 1″ (25mm) catering for the strongest of dogs, (19mm) for medium dogs and the 5/8″ (15mm) for the smallest of dogs.
The Standard Lead 48″ (202cm) is obtained by pulling the handgrip ring out to its full length. To bring it back to double format thread the fabric through the trigger hook adjuster ring.
The Shorter Double Lead 30″ (76cm) is ideal for training or walking and allows the handler to hold the double or looped fabric which gives added strength for the strongest of dogs.
For tethering a dog in the standard lead format pass the lead trigger hook around the post, pass through the handgrip and clip the trigger on to the collar. In the shorter format loop the double fabric over a post, or, pull out to a standard lead format, pass around the post and then clip the ring onto the trigger hook with the collar.
The 30†(76cm) length lead is ideal and gives better control and safety in town or traffic.
